  1. Hello Jord, I have a Subaru Impreza Sti 2008 with a Prodrive Performance Pack... I had problems with engine, the famost Ringland Failure, and I built the engine with forged internals now... Do you know if this problems was the engine 2.5 or bad Prodrive map? I hope your answer...

    Stereo

Not a clue! I take it I would have to remove the stereo in order to see if this is the case? I wasn't sure if there are buttons to press to make the stereo play the cd's? Or should they just automatically load?
  3. Hi people, I decided to load all 6 CDs into the stereo system the other day and I have just tried to load one of them but unfortunately nothing happens . . . ? Not sure if there is a sequence of buttons that I need to press in order for a cd to load?? I also cannot eject any of the CDs which tells me that the cd player is knackered? I've also looked in the manuals and cannot find anything anywhere to tell me how to operate the stereo system!! I have the hatchback sti btw. Any help would be very much appreciated. Regards, Jord
  4. I was thinking of injectors, updated fuel pump, induction kit, exhaust, and remap?? Not 100% certain where this will get me. I have looked around at parts which seem reasonably priced. Was thinking of refurbished injectors as well??
  5. Hi guys, I have a hatchback STi currently running the prodrive performance pack (330bhp) and would really like to see 400bhp. Is this possible without upgrading the engine internals? What mods do i need to do to get to 400bhp? Regards Jord
  6. Ok then thank you for your info I'll leave the pump for now and just inspect the bearing upon cam belt replacement. Regards
  7. I use the car every day and it has 43k on the clock but it is 7 years old ... So that's why I want to change the timing belt plus the auxiliary belt is starting to squeak. I'll have another think on whether to get the water pump as well, just thought it might be a good idea seeing as the package price is reasonable. I will go with dayco.
  8. For the sake of a few extra pounds I can get the water pump so I was thinking it would be a good idea to change it being as the belts will be off and out of the way. However, if the water pump is said to be that good then is it really worth doing?? Suppose I can inspect the water pump when I have taken the belts off but then If the water pump needs replacing I would want to replace it right away rather than waiting for a pump to arrive after inspecting the one that is on the vehicle if you get me? Here is a link to the kits I am looking at: http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=10848&cat=96⊂=457&sec=458&var=0&dc=&gen=&searchKey=&searchPart= http://www.importcarparts.co.uk/parts-info?id=10721&cat=96⊂=457&sec=458&var=0&dc=&gen=&searchKey=&searchPart= What do you think . . . ? Regards
  9. Think I will go with the dayco set with belt, tensioners, idlers and water pump. The guide would be great if you can find it mate.
  10. Think I'll have a bash at doing it myself anyway, it's a learning curve and I enjoy tinkering!
  11. Cheers for the reply guys. I've had a look at importcarparts which looks pretty reasonable regarding price. I understand that the garage has to make a living but i was quoted £570 with belt and tensioner so I thought I'd look around! Cheers
  12. Hi everyone, I have an 08 reg hatchback Sti and need to change the timing belt. Just wondering if anybody has used any of the timing belt kits such as ina, dayco or contitech? Can pick them up for around £200-£250 and I've found a video on how to replace them which looks pretty straight forward ... Don't want to pay £370 at a garage just for a timing belt without the tesioners and idlers!! Just wondering if anyone has had a go at doing this themselves and if there are maybe other manufacturers that do the kit for slightly less ?? Regards Jord
  13. Anybody got an idea of a price for auxiliary and timing belt replacement on hatchback sti?? Regards
  14. Yeah definitely going to get the car checked over ASAP! Cheers
  15. Thanks for the comments guys! Still thinking of taking the car in for a diagnostics just to be sure everything is ok! I was looking at prosport as it isn't too far from me.
