I love the front mount intercooler but have been told that on lower bhp it can cause issues

Loving that engine bay mate mine looks dirty as hell at mo. I'm tempted to steam clean it is there anything I should worry about if doing this? Scoobydoobydan love yours and really nice find mate. It's classic all the way for me. Colin mcrae was my idol growing up. Then remember watching Burns win as well. two of the greatest drivers ever. RIP. For me the classic was spot on looks, sound and power. Grew up thinking one day I will have one. 😊

Wow mate love your classic. Hope i can get mine looking that good. I don't know what to do colour wise on mine. Keep it silver Ice white Or go with something you don't really see scoobys in just to be different. At the mo I am looking at white just because I like them looking like they should 😊

classic suburu wheel sizes advice please
Mine has the strut braces so that's one expense I haven't got. Yes once I hit the 280ish bhp mark I will be upgrading the stoppers. It has some quality discs on at the mo and when I do put her on the road it will only be town driving really. Once I have the few things sorted and tidied up that's when I want to go have a play at track days. That's when I will find out how much my !Removed! grabs the seat when using the brakes haha. The wheels are off my mates type ra and with 4 good tread tyres on only cost me £30 he upgraded to 17s so if I need a new set come brake upgrade time I haven't wasted any money. Thanks for the link savage will go look now. Tyres are a minefield. I went for vredestein on my m3 before the toyo not a cheap tyre at the time but it was like driving on ice with them almost killed me. More important almost killed my car. Rear arb? Sorry been out of the car world for a while. Anti roll bar?

I'm probably gonna go with toyo. Used to use them on my m3 and loved them. No point in having a car like this and going budget on such an important part of the car. Went budget once years ago and ended up replacing them after about 2 weeks cause it changed the handling of the car so much. Looks like the 16s are it's new shoes then. 😀 thanks for the help. Scooby ghost. The 15s just scared me a little lol

classic suburu wheel sizes advice please
Hi guys, Joined a few days ago and the advice I have had is great. I have searched the forum a bit for this answer but no definite. I have a 1996 scooby wrx import lightweight chassis. It is on 15s and I have secured a set of 16s for it that will be on it next week. My question is what is the best wheel size to get for handling purposes. It's yet to be dyno but I would like to get it up to about 330hp Looking for ppl experience on this. I'm not after bigger wheels for looks etc so if 16s are good so am I. Thanks guys

1st ever scooby after 12 years of sports cars
The info I got is he bought the shell with most bits on and had his engine put in it cause his old one had a rotten chassis. Used it for a few years then parked it up in November after getting a new car. He was going to do what I want to do with it and restore it but works away 4 days a week so decided to sell it. Was started etc but that's about it. Maybe did a few miles here and there.

I have every intention of getting engine out at some point a friend has all I need to do it. Might just leave the rocker gaskets till then lol. Thanks for that. It's info like this that is priceless

It's got a nardi steering wheel as well. I'm slowly learning. Without spending mega bucks what would be a reasonable expectation for bhp on this engine. I know with the closed deck I have a good Base for doing more but at the moment I don't want to start messing with the internals too much. (Yet) 😊😊

I want to give it a full service maybe change the rocker gasket etc. Put an original air filter back on it. Then once I am happy it's all running good I need to find a reputable place to get it on the dyno.

Thanks savage. I'm gonna have a chat with previous owner. I know he scrapped his 2000 scooby and had this one rebuilt. So is it likely they put the 2 engines together?

my first scooby
1996 wrx. Lightweight shell, closed deck engine. I got real lucky the bloke didn't know what he had. The cosmetics need some tlc but only 103,000 kilometers on it. (Need to convert it to miles) 3 former keepers. I love the early scoobys. Plan on restoring this as original as possible. Maybe some nice engine mods.
