  1. Hi all...... was just wondering what aftermarket exhaust systems you are running on your imprezas and if you have just went cat back or full decat. i've still got the standard system with the prodrive 2nd cat delete and backbox fitted. i like the more subtle looks of the prodrive tip so was wondering if there are any aftermarket versions that run a smaller tip on the backbox??
  2. As far as i'm aware..... the impreza system is a touch short for the forester. What you would have to do is fit the centre section from the cat to the backbox, then have an extension piece added to the backbox otherwise the tip of the exhaust will sit under the bumper. My forester 2.0XT had an impreza wrx backbox fitted when i bought it and it sat right under the bumper. I had to remove the backbox and have an extension welded on to bring it out to sit flush with the bumper. Me personally.... H&S all the way...... when i come to replace the system on my Impreza i'll be looking at their system. And with regards to the ecu.... you should have no real issues unless you fit a decat.
  3. Nice hawk you have yourself there. Would love to have your wheels...... couldn't justify the expense though, well i probably could but i know the other half would cut my nuts off lol
  4. Mine came with the bailey one fitted. Sounds ok and will do me til i have the cash to consider replacing it. I've removed the sound deadening from the underside of the bonnet and that has actually made a difference..... its much louder when dumping at full boost :D i am a big kid i know lol.
  5. on mine just now is the standard system apart from the 2nd cat delete and the backbox thats park of the ppp. i was thinking of changing the resonated centre section for a non resonated one, then fitting a decat downpipe and leaving the prodrive box in place. some folks on scottishscoobies.net have told me that i might find its not loud enough for me..... but i don't want it to be unbearably loud at motorway cruising speeds..... that would do my head in. reckon i'd have to get a removable baffle for the backbox to quieten things down for long journeys any bits of the exhaust i change will be for hayward & scott parts..... so if the system still isn't loud enough with the prodrive box left in place i can just remove it and fit the hayward & scott one :)
  6. true true.......... going back a few years ago now when i passed my test, i had a vw polo 1.4 with a cherry bomb exhaust fitted. that sounded ridiculous, looked ridiculous and used to set car alarms off all the time lol. can't believe i thought that was cool back then...... 8yrs ago
  7. Nice clean blue blob wrx you have there...... and in the fastest colour B) wheels really suit the car.
  8. The idea is to keep the car looking very OEM with some nice touches here and there. If and when i come to change the exhaust for something louder i think i'll be going for the hayward & scott system with a 3.5" rolled tip. The prodrive one is 3" just now and isn't "in your face" so i reckon the 3.5" tip will be fine for me. I'm not a big fan of the 5" cans that people fit..... i prefer a more subtle looking tip that still sounds as good.
  9. Thought I'd finally post up in here some pics of my car...... Impreza WRX 300. Had her for 7weeks and loved every minute of it :) and still haven't modified or change bits yet ( although I have been compiling a list of bits I want to do :) Here's pics from the day I got her: And here's how she looks now: 2 days it took to de-sticker, remove the residue, polish and wax because of the constant rain showers we've had over the last couple of days. The paintwork has came up not too bad..... The stickers have obviously not been on the car too long....... Was worrying about what mess was gonna be left behind. All comments welcome.... Good or bad
  10. I'm not 100% sold on the stickers..... reckon i'll remove them at some point. I don't even have the car yet and i've drawn up a list of things i wanna do :) I would say i'm worse than a wee boy on christmas eve
  11. pics as requested I know the decals are not to everyone's taste but i'm leaving them on for now as they are different from the usual SWRT ones you see. The car will officailly become mine on the 30th of May...... thats when (touch wood) i pick up my 5th years no claims bonus. Waiting until then means i'm able to get a much, much cheaper insurance quote. Been provisionally quoted £380 by Privelige which i think is a ridiculously low price, considering i'm a 26yr old, 7yrs driving, 5yrs protected NCB and an SP30 conviction 9 months ago, with my 27yr old fiancee as a named driver with 5yrs driving and a clean licence. Counting down the days...... 52 and counting :)
  12. I am living in Tranent just now but will be moving to Prestonpans just before i get the car. You will probably have seen it driving about. It's blue with yellow scooby doo decals fitted
  13. Jay762 - I'll say to him the next time I pop round, he's still a bit of a novice on the Internet. Getting a bit better since we got him an iPad for Xmas haha. He's had a couple of classics, a bug eye, my old forester and now the blobeye WRX 300. His favourite he has owned has to be the WRX 300..... Reckons its the cleanest example he's owned before and he got it for a steal.... Even if it needed a new injector
  14. Haha..... Believe me, he gets plenty beer off me when it comes to doing me favours when it comes to cars. Handy that he is a friendly MOT tester too..... Reckon the 1st thing on the cards for the scooby will be a decat downpipe. Not sure if I'll leave the centre box yet. And I'll have a look at panel filters too Defo not changing the prodrive rear section, wanna have the car looking OEM+
  15. Hi folks. Sean, 26, from East Lothian in Scotland here. Not currently the owner of a Scooby at the moment but will be shortly. Have owned a blobeye 2.0 gx sport wagon and a forester 2.0XT in the past. Will be the proud owner of a blobeye wrx 300 by the end of the summer courtesy of the father-in-law. He bought this one only for the reason that he knew i was looking to buy one soon and it was too good an example to pass up for the price it was going for, even with a failed injector.!Does help that he is a Subaru specialist ;) Will keep things updated until I am the proud owner :)
