It's some cheap crap metal just under 3inch each side. Just looking through my paperwork and it says it has a 3.5inch magnex. Think someone is telling porkys 😂 Must have been the same fitters 😝

Ok so started getting a rasp under the scoob (which I have only had back from the garage a week after a few months waiting for the gearbox to be repaired) I was thinking they forgot to tighten it back up after replacing the gearbox. So popped round to a man with a ramp got it up in the air and found the below image. as you can see some prat has over tightened the bolts stopping any movement which has caused the welds to shear. Now my question is does anyone know why someone has dropped the size of the pipe work and increased it again after? I'm going to get this whole section removed and the size corrected will this cause me any issues?

If I'm honest no idea but it made my scoob look like a skoda 😂

they have been fighting for me to take my money back but 10 days was enough for me to fall in love with the car. I want to keep the car but im pushing them for a fix if i can get one but i dont think they will cover that sort of costs as its half the value of what i paid for the car. as for the gearbox 3rd gear is gone and it sounds like something is rattling around inside.

Brand new £3654.44 + VAT. the 1st option above is gearbox strip and all inside bits replaced but would be a dog box and noisy as hell. 2nd option is refurbished 6 speed box conversion. just phoned around a few places and they cant quote a refurb without having the box to strip down and diagnose. my options are slowly diminishing have a feeling the dealership will back out of the deal instead of cough up the costs.

Had a look at a couple of options today not checked how much a standard 5 speed rebuild will cost but have found the price for the following if anyone needs to know. If rebuild comes close to these two prices i think ill look into one of these instead. 1. Elite racing transmission - £2995.00 + VAT 5 speed Box 2. 6 Speed conversion - £2350 VAT inc 2007 Hawkeye

apparently i have the most illusive gearbox on the planet. none of the above have one :(

Hi guys need help. I have a WRX 2.5 2007 the gearbox fluffed after 10 days and i have had an ongoing battle with the garage to fix it. they have given me the gearbox code TY754VG7AA so i can assist in the search for one. anyone have any ideas on where i can find one? ive tried a few places but atm looks like ill have to order one from abroard. Any help would be appreciated

Welcome, as most above have said the standard box can't take those figures mine is roughly 340bhp and has about 370ft lb of torque and just blew it's box so be careful 😂

Small update gearbox is covered by warranty however i have been informed that the 5 speed gearbox it has isnt suitable for the current power 340hp ish. anyone know much about this ? as they have said i will need to change it to the 6 speed sometime in the future . any information would be appreciated

Hi and welcome. I have a GFB Deceptor on my scooby I have had no issues however they are not cheap. I read somewhere that if you are going to add one it needs to be of good quality I personally wouldn't use a universal but I have only had my car 10 days lol.

It's going into they're garage tonight they already said there not sure what warranty I have but I've only had it 10 days so will be an interesting few days. Just a shame it went before the weekend! 😤

Scrap that gearbox blew up tonight don't see it being fixed before Sunday 😩
