Have seen those heads will see what head place says today and maybe offer him 300 for both. Got pullys off using the bolt extractor method as it goes on outside of the bolts not !Removed! hex inside (gives more leverage) air gun would not touch them big bar and the handle off trolly jack. Whats this about the crank bearings then? Thats a engine split job? I believe the chap had the car serviced regular but who knows. And no chap would not take car back same old story you have thrashed it on way home ect. But motoway is mostly 50mph anyway these days. If he would of had car back I would have never of brought another one really put me off hope is ok when its all back together Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Was a private sale but totally trusted the car as is mint an all history ect. Which is why i went for a nice one not a thrashed one. Yes luckly my family are handy with the spanners so no labour costs. Got to take heads to see if there ok today after work. As the cams have started to eat at the metal. Yes got £400 back at least its a start on the rebuilt bill. Car has only done 3-4 thousand miles in last 2 years. Water pump is fine and can not see any split pipes. Just so disheartening wanted one for ages buy one and blows up on way home gutted to say the least.

First time subaru owner. Went for a real nice hawkeye in blue sti wheels and spoiler on totally standard engine and body work is mint condition.full subaru history head gaskets/cam belt/ service done 4 thousand ago by subaru. Car was fine. Until half way home(60miles) then noticed it was very hot and she cut out. After long story i currently have the engine stripped and may be looking at 2 new heads and all the bits to go with them. Happy first subaru times 👍
