  1. Cheers stants, I would rather try and get it sold as one first as I will be moving within about eight weeks. Time is a big problem at the moment, perhaps I will list it as breaking on eBay.
  2. I am looking for £800 ono for my Dark Grey Metallic Forester, sadly it has succumbed to a broken crank which has left the wife and I devastated. We are shortly due to move to the other side of the country so it has to go, I will not have time to source or rebuild a new engine. It still has some mot on it. Everything on it works as it should (apart from the engine). It is the top of the range model, decent tyres and the interior is in excellent condition. I will consider breaking it if there are enough bits sold to get near the £800. Cheers.
  3. Brilliant, thank you for the help Mr B. Cheers, Andrew.
  4. 2K sounds good too me, I have no problem doing the work. Are you able to tell me what is replaced for £2000 if possible please.
  5. Thank you Mr B, what would be the approximate cost of that? Are there many donor 'later' engines available? What would the value of the car as spares or repair? Cheers.
  6. Hi all, my beloved 2009 Forester has suffered a broken crank at approx 132k miles. I am possibly looking to rebuild the engine and would like to know the following if someone can help please. 1 Do the crank cases survive - requiring just crank and bearings? 2 What is the likely cause of the failure? 3 Will the injectors require replacement or rebuild? 4 Has anyone regularly rebuilt these engines due to crank failure? 5 What would be an expected cost to rebuild? 6 Will it be worth breaking, the car is in decent condition. Any info would be gratefully received, I am absolutely gutted this has happened, the car is so useful and otherwise reliable so would like the chance to keep it longer. Cheers, Andrew.
