  1. Is it me or are the brakes on the hawkeye 160bhp non turbo terrible? I literally feel they have zero stopping power. Now I'm aware clearly fluid, tryes, pads, discs all play a part in this however are they known for being a poor braking system on the hawkeye. Or is it my modle GD9 being a non turbo all having poor brakes. My classic WRX I had previously seemed to have a far greater stopping power. I have been looking at the GD9 brakes avaliable and looking at ebay it would appear STI WRX four pots and 2 pot calipers front and rears fit. Is this the case? If anyone has upgraded a non turbo braking system before any information would be greatly appricated. And I have looked already at the disc sizes for both systems (non turbo and wrx sti) they appear in my modle year to both be 266 and 277. Again any knowledge would be greatly appricated. Regards. Rich

  3. Hi Guys... I bought a 2002 Legacy III AWD Estate 2.0 auto import yesterday and OMG...what a lot of car for tiny money... Never owned a Subaru in my life and I am 54, but definitely want to get this car back up to looking good.... So I am looking for as much advice as possible in getting body parts, interior, etc....a workshop manual would be good too... I look forward to posting, talking and uploading photos as I go along....but she is looking rough at the moment.. Cheers Kev
  4. Morning all, recently purchased an 08 wrx hatch after owning modded n/a pegeouts for years.. well what can I say, I love it. Should've bought one years ago. Already fitted a full turbo back exhaust and it's off to Andy Forrest next Friday for stg1 tune. Not going to go daft with it cos in a couple years I hope to afford an STI.
  5. Selling my much loved forester . Mot until end of feb , new water pump and tyres done recently ,timing belt done , good nick for age , sad sale due to needing 7 seater £800 Ono
  6. hi, my awd turbo has 115k on the clock and isnt running just as smooth as it should and isnt quite as powerful as it should be too, its recently had a full oil change but what else can i do to get it back to running well? thanks
  7. A couple of weeks ago, I had an immobilizer issue with my 1999 Forester (automatic), and it was stuck in 'Park' and couldn't be started. I called for someone to come and take it to the garage, and it was a rainy evening so I didn't stick around. I found the next day that they'd come with a flatbed truck, and when I asked how they got it out of Park, they said "Oh, we didn't... we had to drag it onto the truck". Coincidence, or not but since then, the car seems skittish on corners (especially in the wet), and prone to wheel spin. The manual warns that putting the car on a two-wheel rolling road could damage the AWD system, so this made me wonder if dragging the car could do the same? Thanks, Rod
