Internal dome door light problem

Hi all I have a wee issue with my internal light on my 02 sti bug eye,  the light has stopped working on the door setting when I open any door it does not work, when I flick the switch to on it works fine, iv tested all the switches in the doors and they seem to work fine in the as each one lights the door bulb in the dash panel so I'm led to believe it must be the control unit or the wiring leading to it,  from the research I have done I think I need to find the body integrated module and test pin A6 with a multimeter to check it's  puting out ground 0v when the door is open,  if it is then it's the wire, I was just wanting to confirm this is true and also ask were abouts said module is located
