Getting rid of Diesel, WRX or not?

Hi guys

Well it happened, I have the dreaded piston problem in the Diesel boxers and have only owned the car less than three months! Trying to get my money back from the place I bought it from because I was supposed to have warranty on it but the place never took it out and so they're going to "try" and get the engine fixed. Long story short, I don't trust the guy and am looking to get refunded.

It's my first Impreza and I love it! I want to buy another but I'm looking at getting a 2.5 WRX instead. Main question is are there any major faults that I need to look for before buying one? Are there piston/crank problems with these petrol boxers too?
