Outback Sat Nac Traffic Alerts not working

I recently bought a new Outback. Very pleased with the car except the Sat Nav does not pick up traffic alerts.  Hence the re-route function does not work when route is set. The dealers have done a firmware update but that has had no effect.  Any ideas?
