Hi all,

Recently (this year) an owner of a lovely 2019 Subaru Forester E-Boxer Premium Lineartronic.

Everything's been fine until about 3-4 weeks ago where the EV mode stopped engaging during slow speeds. I can both not hear/feel/or see the EV mode engage in the heads up display like it used to.

Went for its 96,000 miles service today in the local dealership and the person that serviced it said he found nothing wrong with it as there were no error codes and frankly found him quite dismissive.

Can somebody please help me figure out what my options are?

Thank you!

@ianm00 My friend you are in unbelievable luck. I literally just came back from my driveway after fitting a Yuasa 7055 in my Subie for the engine restart Battery.

After lots of research online, electrical tests, it turned out that the problem was my 12V engine restart Battery. This Yuasa model was the one that fit the specs of the OEM Battery and allowed the EV mode to be re-engaged, I tried many others but none worked. It's a little bit smaller than the B24R specification, but it fits fine.

The moment I had a bit of charge on the high voltage Battery and slowed down a bit during driving, EV worked normally for the first time in more than 1 year.

I am super happy.

Good luck!
