I am posting this here because I assume it may be an issue (if indeed it is an issue) across models.

I took ownership of a 2023 Outback Touring with 20k miles.  So far it has been great however I am struggling with the self cancelling indicators.  They don't cancel for anything less than a full 90 degree turn.  For example coming off a medium/large roundabout indication left I would expect the turn to be cancelled but it is not happening.

I also find the click on the indicator stalk to be very soft so it's difficult to feel the point at which it engages.  As a result if I want to lane change I find I have put the indicator fully on meaning that I have to self cancel (the turn is 5 degrees or less).

In my previous cars there is a much more definite click on a full turn and it would cancel after a much less tight turn.

Is this a know issue or just a case of adapting?

I've just changed from a 2020 Generation 5 Outback to a 2025 Generation 6, and I've noticed the very same thing, so it's not just your car.

I'm going to have to see if I can get used to this in practice for a bit, but yes, I used to like the 'soft click', 3 or 4 indications, for lane changes which corrected itself off.

Funnily enough 2 days later and I have got the hang of using them.
