Hi all,

I'm thinking of fitting an aftermarket double din stereo in my bugeye.

I was wondering if I will need a fitting adaptor?

I've seen a YouTube video of a guy fitting a single din which he screwed back into the original fitting on the car. Will this work with a double din stereo?

Any help appreciated

It should do it's been a long time since ? I had my double din stereo but it came with a few types of fixings and one set was just right to use the 2 screw points at the front

Stereo fitted, Only took 15 minutes! Used the brackets from the factory stereo, but bought some 16mm M5 screws as the original ones aren't long enough. I thought I'd change the speakers but since I've changed stereo's the sound is 100% better.

I changed the speakers on mine shockingly bad Subarus choice of speakers :D . But maybe you have had it done before and they just put the OEM Stereo in :D

No mate, I've just bought the car off some guy in his 50's. The cars totally standard, no mods what so ever .

What door speakers do you suggest I use? I know they're 6 1/2" but i hear there's not much depth to play with.

I made mdf donuts to pull them away from the door and bought some Flis more than happy with them was only about £30 or £40 when I got them :)
