June 17, 201411 yr Hi I'm looking for a turbo engine for a 97 Impreza turbo 2000. Any reasonable prices considered. The head gasket on mine went and the "mechanic" who was meant to fix it, didn't. So now need a new engine... Please help!!!!!!
June 17, 201411 yr Why is the current engine not repairable? I can see the attraction of just buying an engine and dropping it in but you could get the same problem ( or worse) the following week.
June 17, 201411 yr Author The head gasket went on the engine originally. The engine got taken out by a so called "mechanic" who then left it in his back garden for 5 years. So it was was full of ants and sand and god knows what else. I would get it reconditioned but there doesn't seem to be anyone who can be trusted not to con you out of a lot of money
