The story gets even better, turns out they have apparently mapped my car without even having the boost solenoid attached, that in itself is a true work of art, I have a feeling that ive been had at the moment lol.

Project Cars thread.
They are getting rare, I witnessed one in black like mine sell for 12k on ebay, it was concourse and the black was an optional extra like mine, however as most of the boy racers of this era are unaware of what it is many car have ended up embarrassed, especially evo's and Scooby drivers.

Exhaust fitment
Hi mate, if its full decated you will have had uppipe done, here is the one that was on my bugeye and it sounded mint, but do what I call the youtube seal of approval :) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/01-06-SUBARU-IMPREZA-WRX-GD-GG-S-STEEL-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-/200623605217?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2eb61945e1

Exhaust fitment
what make is the after market one. just out of curiosity do you have stainless headers, downpipe, up pipe, cats ?, middle boxes etc, as if you want to go louder these are the things to change without compromising the overall sound. For example my bugeye had 2.5inch back, no cats and one middle resonator (silencer) into a pretty small back box (toyosport) and a 2.5 inch uppipe, this gave a very loud but satisfying Scooby burble at idle, then I replaced the headers for unequal length stainless and it made it sound a lot louder but still sounded great. Now my Classic is the same but 3 inch back into a Jasma backbox which is huuuuuge the overall sound isn't as loud but the tone is a lot deeper. I guess what im trying to get at is a full system may be more beneficial in the long run if you don't already have one. As always hope this helps.

Exhaust fitment
Are you looking at it due to a mate having it or because its on Ebay ?, search toyosport exhaust on ebay for the bugeye, if I remember you can get the full lot for about £180, I had it on my bugeye and it sounded amazing, as for your question a couple of searches on numerous threads say that it can :) http://www.wrxtuners.com/forums/f52/will-02-wrx-exhaust-fit-05-sti-10760/

Is my BOV on its way out?
no I don't think you did put too much on it :), As for the theory of not giving it the beans that doesn't count either, mine used to get regular right peg and mine still did it. let me know if it doesn't improve it.

Project Cars thread.
yeah ive been looking into getting that, an escort RS turbo had it as standard but the gearbox is like rocking horse.

RPM AND BOOST
best way to do this is take off the intercooler, as once that is off you can check the pipes on the intercooler and make sure that has no cracks, this will then give you a big open space to check all the pipes on the turbo and the wastegate, it could be anything from a tiny pin prick to a big split that is causing it. is it the original turbo that was on since new, if so it may be getting slightly tired.

Is my BOV on its way out?
someone else has posted a thread stating similar issues to yourself, http://uk.subaruownersclub.com/forums/topic/2223-rpm-and-boost/ ive given a walkthrough in there with things to do, as for the taking it apart, I just made sure it was fully lubed with WD, didn't bother taking it apart as the spring wasn't collapsed it was just sticking wide open. Hope this helps :)

Project Cars thread.
while the turbo is bedding in ive had the boost turned down to minimum, so around 200bhp at the moment, and its a complete animal at handling, no power steering and no ABS, so if you make a mistake you have to basically react fast or crash :) , im doing it up to be a 0-60 and show car though so handling etc was really a big issue.

they always say that you tell 2-5 people on average of a good experience and 20+ of a bad one.

Rollamite's 96 Impreza Sport Project
I don't have the screws but I shall give you the link to it on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121165308032?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649, it has sold but the guy who has bought it states he accidentally hit bid, yet he bidded on it 8 times, so its going through ebay to get reinburshed. the bit where its ABS shows its genuine.
