Hi all, new here and looking for advice! I'm looking to purchase this Subaru WRX S4 from Japan. It has already been imported and registered in the UK and I'm in talks with the owner/dealer on how to insure this vehicle before purchasing as this is my final decision breaker. So far I have tried compare the market with the registration but when I put it on there it only shows as a Subaru Legacy diesel. He then recommended calling Japcover but they don't have the model on their system. I then tried Brentacre, admiral Adrian flux, Howdens & Keith Michaels. And as a result of that: Brentacre - apparently I need to own the vehicle for a year before I can insure Admiral - WRX S4 is not on their system Adrianflux ranged between £1.7k-£2k annual which was ridiculous for insurance In my opinion. Howdens & Keith I'm still waiting for a response. I'm just wondering if anyone can shed some advice from their experience as to why this is so difficult? Is it because the S4 was only made in Japan? Or is it a case of waiting for the car details to show on the DVLA. Also to shed some more details I'm 27 years old, held full UK licence since 2018, 6 years no claims & The car is a 2.0L 4 door saloon, Subaru WRX S4 2.0GT. If anyone can help I'd be grateful as I'm really wanting this car.
