SOUTH WALES MEET! 8/11/15
Excellent. Not from your neck of the woods but I'm guessing you'd be going on heads of valleys road. I'll be joining the road from Dowlais around 10ish probably with Haydnp as well. So if you see us just follow on behind

Nice one Danpow. This seems to be building some momentum now. Hopefully we'll overrun their car park soon. :) did think it was just going to be the 3 of us.

A full tank should do. I'll keep an eye out for someone in Gambits gimp mask.

I'll probably leave here around half nine. I can pull in the petrol station by the Abercynon roundabout around 9.45 and hang about for 5 minutes. Should get to Steel Horse around 10.15 to 10.30 then

SOUTH WALES MEET! 8/11/15
If you're coming from Cardiff way and heading up A470 towards Merthyr I'll be going that way from Llantrisant. Keep an eye out for a 64 plate blue STI and it'll probably be me, just tag on behind if you're not sure of the way.

SOUTH WALES MEET! 8/11/15
Nice one Dan. Sorry if im a bit slow posting on this thread, been in work, sleep, work mode last few days. Already an extra one. Looking forward to it. I can recommend the all day breakfast. Not the cheapest place for grub but definitely worth it and decent coffee too.

8th is good for me too. Wish I had the luxury to refuse to work weekends. :(- Blaenau Gwent area
I've got a flyer somewhere for the cafe. Had to get postcode for AA man when my bike had a flat tyre there back in the summer. I'll dig it out and post it on here if I find it.- Blaenau Gwent area
I can do either of the next 2 Sundays. Shift work is no good for being sociable.- Blaenau Gwent area
Can't make Sunday 15th myself. I'm about to go into a patch of working weekends for a few weeks from that weekend.- Blaenau Gwent area
I could get try and get my brother to drive my Legacy as well, after all it was his car originally, and that would be five. :)- Any local meets
Hi Haydn, been thinking about trying to arrange a South Wales meet myself. DanPow posted something about a local meet as well. I did think of somewhere that might be a suitable venue up near Abergavenny so it could be combined with a decent drive on some nice roads. I'm going there for a ride on the bike today so if the owner is about I'll ask him if he'd have any objections to a bunch of car enthusiasts meeting up there (it's a bikers cafe) and at least that would be a possible venue. Problem is there only seems to be 3 of us on here showing any interest at the moment so I'm thinking we would probably need a bit more interest. I'm a bit old to be hanging around supermarket car parks and getting chased off by the police, if that sort of thing still goes on nowadays :) . If you've got any better ideas or know anyone else interested or if there's already a local meet going on let me know. I don't want to hijack anyone else's plans.- Blaenau Gwent area
Just had a thought of a good meeting place. Steel Horse Cafe near Usk and Abergavenny. Its got a decent car park. It's a bikers cafe so should be car friendly. Think it's open in the evenings and it's licensed. And, the girls serving there usually wear denim shorts. Hope my mrs doesn't read this ;) . Just need more people now- Blaenau Gwent area
Hi Dan, I'd be interested. I'm over Llantrisant way. If there was something fairly local maybe once a month or so I'd be up for that.- Spot / Driving lights for night rallies
Like the idea of LED's. The car has got 125000 miles on it and as far as I can tell the original alternator so might be a better idea than the traditional Cibie Oscar type spots. I was looking at the light bars but wasn't sure how bright they'd be. Cheers.- Spot / Driving lights for night rallies
- Spot / Driving lights for night rallies
I've got an old Legacy 2.5 that I've been using as a runabout for a little while now and was thinking of using it for a couple of night event road rallies. All the car needs to be eligible is a current MOT and be able to pass scrutineering which hopefully it should. What I could do with though is some decent lights, since the events are held on unlit mountain roads and country lanes. Just wondered if anyone on here could recommend any decent spot or driving lights. I had a quick look on Demon Tweeks and they seem to vary a fair bit in price. I don't really want to spend more than a few hundred all in for lights fixtures and loom. At least not to start with. Or possibly upgrade the headlight units themselves. Any reccomendations anyone?- Bikes
- JUST 1 MPH TOO FAST AND YOU'RE NICKED: NEW ZERO TOLERANCE APPROACH TO SPEEDING
I've got Termignoni exhausts on the Ducati so it does sound nice, especially when it's popping on the overrun. I totally agree BoozyDave. It's more about hazard awareness and driving to limit points. On public roads if you can't stop before both sides of the road converge at the vanishing point you're going too fast. Sometimes that's way over the speed limit and sometimes it's well below. Which is where this zero tolerance bulls**t becomes more about money making than applying common sense and safety. - Blaenau Gwent area
