  1. I have a 2002 bug and im after a vf34 turbo for it. Must be good useable condition. Cash waiting.
  2. My wrx has 225 45 17 at the minute but there garbage tyres and the road noise is horrible. Probably be better off buying some decent tyres tbh as my alloys are in good nick.
  3. The blob isnt a sti so should fit fine. Its just the tyre size that concerns me. Is 205 45 17 ok to fit on a bugeye as ive read that 215 is the minimum?
  4. Hi all. Just bought myself another subaru. Been away for too long. Anyway its completely standard bar a wr sport backbox and panel filter upgrade. Noticed earlier the tyres are 225 45 17. Got my eye on a set of prodrive wheels and tyres with 205 45 17. Would these fit ok? Its a 2002 uk bugeye wrx ive got. And the wheels im thinking of are fitted to a 2005 blob. Cheers. Steve.
  5. Hi folks. Just seen a pretty nice looking classic on Ebay. Reg number V3 SOL. Looks a pretty nice spec car with recent rebuild. Does anyone know it as its an hour and half away from me and thought i put out the feelers before i contemplate viewing it next weekend. Cheers. Steve
  6. Theres no mention of a rebuild. Its just had a new clutch fitted. Theres full subaru service history with it. Like you say, its only a matter of time before a rebuild is required. And knowing my luck it wouldnt even get me home. lol.
  7. Thats what i thought myself. Really dont want to have to pump 4k into a rebuild seeing as the cars near on 10k to buy! Saw a wr1 the other day at work on someones drive. My god it was neglected. Dents and rusty arches. Looked like it had been parked up for a few years. What a waste.
  8. I've seen a 1 owner sti wr1 just been listed on Ebay but the mileage of 144k is a bit more than i wanted to go for. Is that sort of mileage an issue with full service history?
  9. Think im just going to bide my time and wait until the one for me turns up. Suppose the longer it takes the more money i will have to add to the pot.
  10. I'm looking to spend between £6000 to £8000. I've had an import sti classic before and would prefer to go up the years to bug or blob. Seen a few on the bay but become very untrusting thanks to my focus experience. Is tom harvey as bad as ive heard? Seems to have a fair few nice scoobys atm.
  11. Had to get the focus st out of my system to be honest. Cost me near on a grand loss for the privilege. lol. Defo going to take my time buying again. Want this next car to be " the one" if there is such a thing.
  12. Hi all. Been a little while since I've been on the forum. Been an unhappy owner of a focus ST for a few months. Had nothing but aggro and payout since I bought it. Eventually, after a cracked liner issue, I've cut my losses and sold up so back to searching for a subaru AGAIN. Should have gone with my instincts and stayed in the warm folds of Japan. lol. Anyway, im after a blobeye onwards sti. Got to be uk spec as cant afford to insure an import.
  13. Hi all. After selling my sti import at the beginning of the year due to work taking my company car ive decided im getting another scooby regardless. Now ive got about 8k to 10k burning a hole in my pocket. Do i get another classic or go up the years and maybe even try a hawk eye? Seen 1 on the bay. Relisted and its only down the road from me in coalville. Black hawkeye. Forged engine. Running 400+ bhp. Any advice folks. Steve.
  14. Hi all. Sold my scooby today. A nice chap called jonathan came all the way from London to Leicester to buy it. Hope hes as happy with the car as i have been. Second viewing and it sold. My god how bad is Fleabay for selling though. Had phone calls and texts at all times of the night. Dont people sleep! Lol. Anyway its back to normal boring motoring for me again.
  15. I will still be popping back online mate. Might even get a project scoob to keep me occupied. lol.
  16. Hi all. After my personal issues with having to insure a second car ive now been given a brand new company car! Love my job. lol. Any way my scooby now needs a new home. Listed on the bay. Api engine rebuild 4k miles ago. Looking for £4000. My ebay id is buyandsellperc. Easier than typing all the spec on my phone. Im in leicester. Steve.
  17. After a lot of phone calls and comparison sites ive managed to get my work car insured for £6 a week. Im able to mirror my ncb. So the scooby stays. Happy, happy days!☺Thanks to everyones ideas/opinions. Helped a lot tbh.
  18. It is purely financial reasons for me too. I could work 6 days a week but cant justify doing a 6 day week to keep a car. To feed my kids yes but to keep a car? Sure once i can get some money behind me i'll be back as arnie said. lol.
  19. The mg has had a recon gearbox, new clutch, new brakes, full service so its been very well cared for. Know i will regret getting rid of the scooby but im just struggling to insure the scooby and my 1.4 crappy work run around.
  20. The v6 engines are about the only one id touch tbh. I had a mk 1 v6 180 before but much prefer the look of the mark 2. As far as ive read the v6 head gaskets are not as prone to fail as the other k series. Im hoping to find somewhere i can get insurance a load cheaper then im keeping the scooby. A-plan are ringing me tomoz so who knows.
  21. Hi all. Ive just lost my company car and am having to insure a low cc car to use for work with business use. Im going to struggle to afford to insure my scooby and another car. Ive been offered a deal with a fella to swap with cash for his mark 2 mg zs 180. Cash my way. lol. The insurance on my jdm sti is 1200 a year and the mg insurance is only 250! With 2 cars insured its only 700 a year! Might seem a no brainer but going to miss the scooby so much. Any advice would be good. Steve
  22. Does anyone know anywhere i can get a new grille badge from? I bought one from ebay and its just a very thin sticker. Its buried in the hole where the original badge fits.
  23. Scoobyworld do have good prices for work done. Their normally booked up for about 2 weeks so plan ahead.
  24. Hi all. Booked my car to sort out the clutch. Felt like a right plum. So ive been informed i dont drive enthuiasticly enough. lol. Quick blast with a few 3k rev pull offs and the slipping is no more. Clears any crap on the flywheel apparently. Defo need to drive the scooby more. lol.
  25. Ive owned a few turbo'd scoobys and 1 na scooby. If youve ever driven a turbo scooby a na one does feel very slow. I had a na bugeye sti rep with every sort of extra. Coilovers, antilift kit, sti brakes and i loved how the car looked but for me, just wasnt in the same level as the turbo version. The black one does look very nice though I have to admit. As others have said, servicing is no more to do on na as turbo. It can be difficult to find a decent scooby though. Had a few dogs before i found a really good one. As the buying guide states. Go with your head.
