  1. Good idea Stants. Yes I do.
  2. Yeah been checking that. They don't seem to come up at all. I'm assuming there was one for the SG Forester. I have the Subaru dog guard, I'm looking for a divider that splits the boot into two sections to stop pooch rifling through my groceries
  3. Does anyone have - or know where to get - a boot divider for dogs for a 2005 forester xt with a sunroof? I can find them for the newer 2010 shape but not the SG 2005 shape.
  4. Ah I'll just stick with the standard size lol
  5. Fastboy you're right. What I'm saying is 55 and 60 actually stands for 55% and 60% of the width of the tyre. That's how profiles are measured
  6. Staying at 60 and going wider will also affect the speedo as the profile of the tyre is based on a percentage of the width. The question is which is a greater change I guess: staying at 60 and going wider or coming down to 55 and going wider.
  7. The 60 figure is a percentage of the overall tire width. I would have thought that going down to 55 - although Not completely accurate - would help maintain something close to the same overall diameter?
  8. Hi Stants. Yeah if you wouldn't mind.
  9. Hi all,I'm looking to get slightly wider Tyres on my 2004 Subaru Forester 2.5XT. It's got standard 16" rims on it, and currently has 215 60 r16's on. I'm looking to put 225 55 R16's on as they're slightly wider, and that size of tyre seems to have some pretty good deals on. Has anyone got any pics of their Subaru running stock rims and 225 55 r16 Tyres?
  10. Has anyone managed to fit a Thule 9104 boot mounted bike rack to fit on a 2004 Forester? I had a quick look at it tonight and it doesn't seem to fit. The hooks that hang on to the top of the boot don't fit down the gap between the roof and the boot. I guess I could modify them slightly, but, a little reluctant to do that. 11. Ah ok, was hoping you were going to say Reading, or Streatley hahah. Yes looking at them I see what you mean; would be a pretty straight forward weld. They're a completely useless looking design as standard!
  12. I used a fairly cheap cloth to see what it was all about before spending my pennies. Even the cheap one knocked spots off the time it takes to do a whole car. Can quite easily do it as part of a routine wash and still be finished in time for dinner.
  13. I'll ask. By-the-way. Where are you based Mr B?
  14. The arb arrived pretty quick too via UPS. Not dodgy MyHermes.
  15. Oh boy, I was hoping that these would do the job: http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=39_274_326_342&products_id=2508 ...or maybe some updated lateral links might be a better route... Hmmm
  16. Ah yeah very different to mine. ARB turned up; brand new, bargain! Looks like it'll fit. I think the slightly different shape is to accommodate the adjustable settings. I might just run it on standard setting until I replace the mounts etc.
  17. So where the droplinks join the ARB to the suspension arm. I've read that the lugs need to be braced.
  18. Yes, welding. Not my strong point. Might just use the standard ones for now then. I won't be driving it particularly hard at the moment. If they break I'll bite the bullet too lol. Did you use the link supports for the droplinks ? Mr B I've got those Meyle HD end links to go on too.
  19. As the title suggests. I want to fit a 21mm Impreza STi ARB I have to my 2004 Forester 2.5XT SG. Question is; which mounts to use. Impreza STi ones, which as far as I understand would need to be built up somehow to match the height of a Forester mount Whiteline Forester ones, job done, but seem totally overpriced for what they are. Or something else? I can't seem to find Forester STi mounts anywhere for sale.
  20. Do what Mr B says. You won't be disappointed. I put the KYB shocks with KYB springs and the ride is nice and sharp without being harsh. The car is used by wife too so didn't want to destroy the ride comfort. I've got a 21mm STi rear ARB lined up to go in now to help with the handling; I'm just trying to work out which mounts to get STi ones or Whiteline ones, but that's for a separate thread ;)
  21. Actually. doh. I hadn't connected one of the wires together. So stereo now powering on and I've got sound; I'm just missing steering controls, and Factory Sat Nav connection. Does anyone know if the sat nav connection is purely for sound, or if it takes a feed from the antenna for traffic?
  22. *EDIT* Cheers Aucky, don't worry about ripping out your dash, I think I've figured it out. The only thing that isn't clear is how to connect the factory Sat Nav. From what I can work out, the first two looms on the link below will get me up and running with sound and power and steering controls, which points to the last black block being for the factory NAV screen at the top of the dash. http://incartec.co.uk/subaru/2094/1036/2066/radio/Browser.aspx
  23. Evening all. I've just tried to install an Alpine CDE-W235BT into my2004 Forester 2.5XT and rather predictably the ISO harness I ordered didn't do the job. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the correct harnesses and how to get the steering controls working? The harness I got plugs nicely into the two iso leads coming out of the HU's harness, but only connects to one of the three harnesses coming from the Subaru; the white one. There were two more black ones, a small one which I assumed was the steering remote, and one other. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00J8N9K4C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 The stereo didn't switch on (I don't think).
  24. I'm rather embarrassed; I didn't even notice that when I did the shocks. Oops. Yeah the whole underside needs a good clean, the previous owners used it to get around their farm. Bought the ARB :)
