Muffler delete axle back only
Cosmicalien replied to Cosmicalien's topic in Member's Subarus For Sale
Really. They did suggest adding 2 small silencers just to quiet it down. Will these offer enough back pressure. Hmmm -
Muffler delete axle back only
Cosmicalien replied to Cosmicalien's topic in Member's Subarus For Sale
Hello thank you for your reply. I believe there will be no silencers just straight pipes from the axle back. Am i safe to do that. -
Hello. My car is booked in for a muffler delete tomorrow on my 2012 Subaru Wrx Sti type UK saloon I'm doing axle back only . I'm a bit concerned about something I read on the forums . One of the posters said that if you install a bigger down pipe it reduces back pressure makes the engine work harder and may cause ringland failure. What you saying fellas.

Hello everyone I'm looking to sell my beautiful SUBARU WRX STI TYPE UK SALOON 2012. £18,999 ono .Unfortunately I have a tear in my shoulder muscle which is going to put me out of work for 9 months so I cannot keep up the payments on my car. The car has 58,000 miles serviced by Subaru every 10,000 miles so it has 6 stamps in the service book. Since I brought the car I have had a genuine Subaru dealer big spoiler put on a roof vortex generator and under car rear diffuser. All wheels are spotless the tyres almost brand new. The car is completely mechanically unmolested. I had the bonnet resprayed to rid it of stone chips. The interior looks unused the recaros have been protected by sti seat covers. If you are interested please contact me .

Hey fella lol I've welcomed you already earlier in the post. I'm 55 I have a Sti like yours but in plasma blue. I had the same spoiler like yours. I changed it for a Sti one, put a vortex generator on the roof and a diffuser under the rear bumper. I have pictures on the gallery section. I love the fact that we are all individuals with our own tastes and styles at 55 I don't feel old I feel like a regular guy who loves cars. But your damn right about just getting in it makes me smile.

Thank you very much Geoff leggy. The idea of painting the scoop and vortex generator gloss black was Martin from the very very good body shop. The idea of the sticker inside the scoop was all mine. Next project in the summer is painting the alloy wheels shadow chrome. Again thanks for your complimentsourcing. -

Top Gear F1 boss Eddie Jordan joins Top Gear line-up
Cosmicalien replied to Gambit's topic in Junk Room
I think no one could cut it as Top Gear presenters. Jeremy Clarkson has such a way with words that I don't believe Eddie Jordan, Chris Evans or Matt Le Blanc could come close to however they may have more mechanical skills apart from using a sledge hammer to fix things ie taking off wing mirrors and a dashboard with a hammer lol. Am i judging to quickly. -

New WRX STI remap
Cosmicalien replied to ButlerR32's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
I agree they sound limp. The guy who is doing my spoiler and other things owns a 59 plate and it sounds amazing proper proper sound. I believe a muffler delete will achieve the sound required. I can't do any mods as yet because car has a years warranty on it I think I'll see the warranty out just to be on the safe side. Might be a stupid question but did Subaru re do the mapping properly by the time it got to the 2012 Sti's. As you can tell I'm new to Subaru only my second month of ownership. -
New WRX STI remap
Cosmicalien replied to ButlerR32's topic in Subaru Engines, Exhausts and modifications
I wanted to do a simple muffler delete similar to the Nameless from America but done by Custom Chrome in Nuneaton the guy quoted me £250 with any choice of tailpipes and lifetime guarantee. I wanted to put in a Cosworth air panel filter and a remap to match. Would all this cause head gasket issues? Surely the engine's are not that fragile. 323 bhp like yours is enough for me . I do like your car Confusedbrog have you seen the same model set the production car record at the TT course on the Isle of Man by Mr Higgins watch it on you tube it's amazing. -

That's exactly what they called it MikeEcho but there car is newer 2015 saloons in fact. On guy is a engine remapper he suggested cosworth head gasketsets before remapping as a preventative measure. I got the feeling he didn't want any blame in the future. -

Hello I'm a tad confused . I have a 62 plate STI saloon all I've been told is avoid upgrades due to head gasket failure issues. A few guys have suggested that from the onset these engines are truly awful but here you guys are remapping putting on new exhaust and air filters. Did Subaru have these engines sorted by the time they got to the saloon models in 2010 -2014 and onwards models. It's been bugging me so much I'm actually considering selling my car. Please advise . -

I know for a fact I'm not going to watch it. I'll read car magazines instead. What a awful choice of presenters. Why didn't they ask the licence payers for our opinion in a vote or something, the top 3 get the job if they are available of course. Who can follow Mr Clarkson Mr Hammond and Mr May. It's like following Sir Alex Ferguson so far all crap. -
Hello Scoobydoobydan I'm not sure if I have jumped Iawata's post if I have my apologies to Iawata. Just seemed wrong not to reply. In answer to your question about mods I am currently having the big spoiler put on also a vortex generator and HT rear diffuser the one between the tail pipes rather than the full width one. I will post some pictures when i get it back.. Again sorry if question was for Iawata.
