  1. I found them on the trusted garage and seller section of this forum .
  2. I bought genuine pads from the bay from alanpriceautos007 . only cost £24.95 and they come with all the clips and break grease which you don't get with pattern parts .
  3. LPG is quite expensive so I would only do if you were planning on keeping it for at least 3 years and you need to have a flashlube system fitted too as I have been told LPG doesn't lubricate the top end as well as petrol .
  4. Just a quick up date . Alan the clear plastic didn't work as the hole is on the curved part and the plastic doesn't bend . I got some good news and bad . The good is that the cover just pops off to reveal the two screws holding the indicator unit. The bad is a new unit costs £87 from Subaru you can't just buy the clear lens . I was wondering if any body knew of a Subaru breakers yard that I might be able to get a used one from ?
  5. Thanks Alan , just ordered it so will try it next week . I managed to find some instructions on fitting a replacement , looks like you have to remove the glass first , could end up being expensive !!
  6. Hi , me again ..I just noticed that the clear lens on the bottom of my ns door mirror for the indicator has a hole in it . Does anybody know how if it can be replaced and if so how ? I didn't want to start prising it off to have it crack on me. Thanks in advance .
  7. I wouldn't use anything apart from break grease ( not copperslip ), the last thing you want is to have them seize up again and have to do it all again !
  8. If you buy a new pin kit it should come with the break grease to use with the pins.
  9. Hi stants . yes all the normal functions work ,constantly on , intermittent and wash .just stops wherever it is when the switch is turned off .
  10. It just stops on the rear screen in the position when the switch is turned off , it doesn't stop at the same position twice in a row . hope that makes sense !
  11. I would agree about the stuck slider pins . wears your pads out quicker and warps the discs !
  12. Hi , when I use my rear wiper and then turn the switch off , the arm stops moving as soon as I turn it off , it doesn't come to rest at the bottom of the rear screen . Does anybody know if there is a way to reset it . Thanks
  13. Well I decided to let a garage I trust change the plugs for me , only charged me £55 labour .
  14. Greenmamba , how difficult was it to change the plugs ? Was it easy to see the coil packs and remove them from underneath ?
  15. Hi , I was thinking about attempting to replace the plugs on my H6. I have seen a video on you tube where the guy removes the battery and battery tray to make access easier . Can anybody tell me if I will need a radio code to reset the radio once the battery is reconnected and does it play havoc with the alarm or key fob. Thanks ..
  16. Thanks for the replies .
  17. Do you have to release a tensioner or back anything off to get the old one off and the new one on ?
  18. I don't know if a guide to this has been posted but can anybody tell me an idiots guide to replacing the auxiliary drive belt , does it need any special tools ?
  19. I found the Subaru 4 wheel drive to be the best I have used .
  20. That would be a good idea , only takes a while and saves a lot of bother in the long run .
  21. The pin kit came with two sachets of break grease so there is now loads in there .
  22. Removed the carriers today and took them to my local garage , bit of heat applied and the slide pin came out fine . Got a new set of pins to put in tomorrow so hopefully the problem will be sorted .
  23. Hi Greenmamba . Am I right in thinking the sticking pin could be the cause of the discs warping prematurely ?
  24. Hi , I just bought a 2006 3.0rn .It had stearing wheel shake when I braked hard so I replaced the front discs and pads today , can anybody tell me how to remove the bottom slider pin as I think it had seized which is why the discs are warping too quickly . I tried giving it a tug with some molegrips but it didn't move . I don't want to give it too much force and end up breaking the pin . Thanks
