  1. Wow that's quite a low interval for the Cambelt. It was done recently but I think I need to check to be sure. Only happens when I give it some beans happens in most gears on change but most noticeable at the top end of third. I like the sound it's awesome just checking to make sure I'd not broken something. I usually do when I change something on cars. Cheers for your help. Frank
  2. Hello, I have a few questions just for my general info really if anyone could answer them that would be great. 1) is there a link as to how the 4wd system works anywhere? Things like ratio of power from front to back if it differs? 2) what is the standard boost? 3) what are the recommended timing belt intervals? 4) does anyone else experience a violent jolt when dropping out of 3rd to change up? Like someone's put the brakes on. My way round it is to blip the revs so they don't drop so much. 5) since my new sports cat and exhaust with no resonators I can hear a whooshing sound when accelerating its not too loud but wasn't audible before is this an excuse for some new parts? sorry about the questions. Cheers. Frank.
  3. So are the discs on mine 295mm? With the 4 pots? Are mtec discs any good or just go for standard brembo ones from motorfactors? Ta. Frank
  4. Hi sorry. Got a 3inch one now. Just read that back and there's no way to not make it sound dodgy and perverted.
  5. Cheers. The pads have only seen around 10k mileage and look around half worn. But I'll have a good look over them when I take them off. I think new pads and discs will happen regardless. It had new calipers around 5 years ago and the mileage isn't really that high. I think they need a good recon. The whole brake system. Cheers. Frank
  6. So I have the standard 4 pots on my newly acquired 99 U.K. Wagon. They just seem a little.......****. There appears to not be very much braking happening unless I proper stamp on them is this normal I'm used to more modern cars as off late. Also under braking there's a vibration in the pedal that appears to match the revolution of the wheel so I'm thinking a warped disc? To back that up if I drive around at slow speed sub 10mph there's a squeak again with each wheel revolution that gets quicker as I increase speed. Any thoughts are appreciated. Also what's the best way to check all four pistons are working? Take the calipers off the disc and press the brake pedal? Cheers. Frank
  7. Any chance of posting this to Kent?
  8. Any chance of posting it?
  9. Where abouts in Suffolk are you?
  10. As above I have a 1999 Impreza turbo wagon and am after a relatively quiet backbox. Not worried about condition as long it works and sounds ok. Also a dump valve if anyone has one of those kicking about. Cheers frank
  11. Finally got this. Now the fun begins. What's the best way to make louder but not too loud. I don't want to wake the whole street while sneaking home at night. But I do like the sound they make when they are a bit louder. Is a back box the only real option? Filter etc maybe a larger downpipe? I'm not bothered about perf gains. (Yet). Cheers. Frank
  12. Good morning, Just a quick hello. Should be picking up a 1999 Impreza turbo wagon in the next month or so. With only 77k on the clock. Bodywork and interior need a bit of work but mechanically its awesome. I'm sure I'll have a few questions. In fact is the only difference between the wagon and normal car the body shell? i.e are the mechanicals the same so an exhaust off the normnal one will fit a wagon? Regards, Frank.
