  1. I got rid of my Yokos with 4mm as the grip was poor. Have run on Michelin Cross Climates since - perform superbly all year.
  2. Hi Eslam I have had my XV for 3 years and had front brake calipers replaced under warranty. Since then well pleased with the XV - this is my third Subaru (previously boy racer Imprezas). The XV is a good all round SUV and as good as any for your purpose. Up here in Jockland the all wheel drive and high clearance is perfect for winters. As to your queries I will only reply to the issue of the spare wheel. I opted for a space saver wheel/tyre- purchased from Tyremen Ltd - www.tyremen.co.uk (£179 complete). Just remove the foam from under the boot floor cover - purchase a retaining fixing bolt - The Wheel Shop - www.thewheelshop.co.uk (£12.95) - and the space saver fits in nicely. The boot floor is threaded for the fixing bolt. There is still room under the floor in the well of the wheel for jack, tools etc.
  3. Have been running Cross Climates for a year now - excellent performance in all conditions.
  4. I have always used manufacturers bars in the past but with this XV I bought a set in Lidl for (I think) about £30. They were listed as XV compatible and do the job.
  5. I have owned Imprezas in the past and in retirement have bought an XV 2.0D SE Premium from Ian Grieve Subaru, Camelon, Falkirk. After a lifetime in sales I found the Sales Manager Gavin Fraser as professional as they get - check out what he has. I
  6. Aye, if I wanted sheer performance I would have gone for an STi. Now at the stage where 50+mpg, AWD (to cope with snow and bit of rough terrain) and hatchback utility are more important. OK - old age has something to do with it! However I do like all the "toys" on the Premium. It's an ex demonstrator so is pretty well tooled up but I have added a rear bumper protector and cargo tray (dog!) and a bonnet protector (stone chips). Bit different to my first car - Ford Anglia 105E bought in 1965.
  7. Hi All Just rejoined Subaru after some years. Had various company car makes over the years and had (personal) Impreza Sport and Turbo models. Retirement allows return with XV 2.i0 SE Premium. Jings - cannot believe the poor Autocar etc reviews. Guys - dont read it - drive it!
