  1. Hey team, I have just signed up, seen similar posts regarding this but I have done some extra things unlike others. I have recently converted to a front mount intercooler and upgraded to a Td05 20g turbo, I have also put in a DW200 fuel pump and still have STI Pink injectors to go in..I have put these in and I am now having what seems to be a misfire issue. I believe it is from a vaccum leak but I am stumped on where it could be coming from. I have it at a shop but it is there on a pay first basis and it is there to get other work carried out too so I am doing most of the work myself as much as I can. The list is as follows as to everything I have replaced and what I have done to try find this issue: TD05 20G - New gaskets, studs, nuts etc. All secure and tight. Oil feed is tight, oil return is on but needs clamped. Water feed is tight, water return needs tightend (Wastegate actuator is in the way, cant get anything in there till I put my external on.) K&N Pod filter connecting to a silicone Induction pipe - Revirculating bov hose has been blocked off with a plug and the PCV hose has been replaced and fitted with clamps. (I am also running a boost tap, I know slap me now but it is locked on 8psi and only temporary.) So the front to hoses are blocked off. Front mount intercooler - All the joiners are if anything extra tight and have all been clamped down with think boy clamps. Blow off valve is mounted on the pipin and has an adapter and has been clamped on with hose clamps and a circlip. Breather hoses on the metal rail running across the top of the intake manifold - friend of mine snapped one so I replaced them both with silicone 10mm hose and they are clamped with zip ties and fit fine. Spark plugs - These are a fit the vehicle standard and the car starts up fine (The motor was flooded so replacement was necessary.) They unflooded the car real quick but as stated there is a misfire/rough idle. Coils were all fine when I looked at them. Oil change and oil filter - Using oem parts and I believe 5/30 is what i put in it, fully synthetic stuff. Oem fuel filter - Just standard fuel filter change with the fuel pump fit in snug and the hoses are all fine. Oil pressure gauge - I have installed a 60mm boost gauge, AFR gauge and Oil Pressure gauge, the oil pressure sensor sits behind the alternator nice and snug but it sill isn't reading any pressure (Probably my dumb **** not soldering the wires to the sensor) the boot gauge is fine that was easy as and the AFR hasn't been wired in yet. As far as I can remember that is all I have done motor wise etc. Now we get to the juicy part. I start the car and for a second it is fine it goes up to about 1500 to 1800 rpm as it is a cold start but it drops down to about 800 to 500 and the motor shakes, actually makes a horrible noise from the intercooler piping rubbing on the guard from its little fit. I feather the throttle and I get up to 2k rpm and it sounds normal but it instantly drops down every time I lift off and continues to throw a tantrum. The car was running fine before I did all the work. Now I have not checked the fault codes, I am assuming the shop will do that if the smoke machine doesn't show a vacuum leak. I have squeezed, pulled and twisted every vacuum line but there are no splits, holes, brittleness or anything on any of them. I can only think the worst at this point and I would rather not think it if I can help it. Hence why I am reaching out. I am absolutely stumped. Feel free to ask any questions and provide any ideas, I will probably try most of your ideas on Monday when I can get the keys back to open the car. I have had the battery out for more than long enough for the ecu to reset and still the same issue.
  2. I was just wondering if anyone knows if the centre pipe on a non turbo 1.5 is the same as any other impress such as a n/a 2.0 etc? The centre pipe I have has a flat silencer on it which I'm looking to replace, the pipe is 1.35m long.

  4. Subaru Impreza WRX Prodrive SL Wagon. £5500 I'm selling my very clean Impreza. It is a factory fitted Prodrive and is completely stock, including original Prodrive exhaust. It has a full service history, with receipts and purchase history and 12 months MOT. I have owned the car for the 55,000 miles and it has been serviced by Knightbridge, Jacksdale, Notts for the whole of my ownership. The car has done 106,000 miles with most of that being motorway mileage since I've had the car. The only upgrades I've added is roofbars and cruise control. As you might have noticed it is an SL spec car which means it comes with upgraded audio system, electric sunroof, full leather and heated front seats. There are four bad points to the car: 1. There is a CD stuck in the CD player 2. Tiny ding above the wheel arch (see pictures) 3. Front corner paint work needs tidying up (see picture) 4. Alloys have expected wear and tear, All three of these issues are incredibly minor but I thought it was worth pointing out. Overall this is an incredibly clean, fun, practical car. The reason for sale is due to a change of job and receiving a company car.
  5. I am looking to replace the ARB's on the wagon, and i have the opportunity to buy a 22mm front, and 24mm rear adjustable used from a wagon being broken. Both are whiteline, which i hear are the better for handling but bad for corrosion, however they've been powder coated so that's not too much of an issue. I wondered whether this would be OTT for a road car i have no plans to track? Was thinking about whether just doing the rear would be a better plan or not... I will be replacing droplinks to solid CDF racing items too. Current setup is mostly standard except for KYB ExcelG struts and GB270 wagon springs (essentially PCA dynamics) Cheers
  6. Hello all, Just got a blue 2006 Hawkeye Wagon WRX 2 weeks ago, completely standard and unragged . Great starting point, already bought a Invidia N1 Racing Titanium Tip Cat-Back Exhaust System. Just waiting on it arriving, taking it's sweet time tho. Been a honda man up until this point, owned a MB8 VTIS, JDM EP3 and EK9. Anyone recommend a good garage in Scotland. I know there's RA Motorsports in Perth. They can provide almost any service for Subaru's, however I am every weary of them. Not sure if their a bit dodge or not. Has anyone use them? I will add pics of my new Wagon soon once I have detailed it.
  7. Hi all Finally taken the plunge and bought myself an impreza. 2000 Wagon Turbo in mica red. It's a 2nd car so not a daily ride, so it will be my weekend toy. Really pleased with it as its in great condition for the year.
  8. Hi everyone, After a few months looking I've bought myself an Impreza wagon. 55 plate hawkeye with 160bhp NA engine - couldn't quite justify the extra costs for a WRX and honestly think the 160bhp engine is quite good fun anyway. I came from a VAG 1.9 TDi with 105bhp, so this feels much brisker. Hopefully it will prove reliable, I managed 36mpg on the 'delivery trip' from Suffolk up to Glasgow which isn't too awful. Bought a new Sony Head unit which I will install soon - anyone got any advice about best place to run the bluetooth mic cable? Wee photo below...maybe belonged to a previous member?
  9. My rear bumper is tatty and I'd like to replace it - anyone got one in good condition, paint code 48w? I'm in Kent but happy to pay postage for a good one.
  10. Hi Everyone. I test drove a 2005 Wagon GX 2.0 earlier. 36000 miles, service history and in VGC. HPI checked and found to be correct mileage. Dealer asking £2995. Due to change of circumstances, I am trading in my beloved HONDA Civic and toyota Landcruiser Colorado, equally loved! I feel the Sub is a good compromise between the two. Drives spot on. In black. Views please. Glad to be a non owning member but hoping to change that this weekend! Thank you
  11. Hi Guys, Got my first Subaru today and it's been amazing so far. Was carried 200 miles by @Elliott to pick her up and the drive home couldn't have been any smoother. Mine's the gray one - pic taken when we stopped half-way at some services. Great to finally be on the forums! -Kieran
  12. Hi All, I've always wanted an impreza wagon so thinking to bite the bullet! Found a 2002 bugeye wagon 2.0gx with 75k on the clock, 2 owners from new - recently had new clutch and exhaust, the guy wants £1400 which I think seems reasonable? Just wondering anything special I should look out for before buying? common rust issues? suspension creaks? I'm guessing I'll be lucky to get about 28mpg from it? and will need to change the oil every 6k or so? There's no evidence of cam belt ever been changed so thats 1st on the list of jobs - local garage quoted £150 for this job... It's probably now or never for me as the bugeye wagons are getting on abit now... Thanks for any advice/info!
  13. Hey guys! I just recently purchased my first Subaru! It is a 2000 Outback Wagon, Ive always wanted a wagon so why not get a AWD Subie. I plan on getting a Roof Rack, Hella 500FF Driving lights up front, and some other Off Roader accessories.

  16. Hey guys I've had a 06 Impreza 4WD Sports Wagon 1.5L for a while now and I have got bored of it even though its mainly for work, I needed to know what engines that anyone knows of that will fit into that chassis. It doesn't have to be a Subaru Engine, but I need something bigger and better but still Japanese and what mods will I have to do to make it a snug fit. Cheers Jordan

  19. Hi all, This is the first instalment of what is going to be a long-ish journey I will be taking with my newly acquired Impreza WRX Wagon in Savanna Green Metalic. This particular car was owned from new by an old Subaru dealer (Chapmans Of Pickering) as a demo car and it was pretty spec'd out with all the toys so they could show off their cars I imagine but for me it was more knowing it had been looked after no matter what (serviced every 5 to 7K on the dot)...after the dealer it was owned by 1 woman and my friend Mark who I then purchased it from :D. To be honest I never really looked into Imprezas much but when I saw my friend was selling this one I decided to pop over to have a look round. The first time I sat in the bucket sport seat and started it up I was in love! the feeling of the engines power behind the wheel and the road presence sold it to me without much hesitation at all. Mark explained to me how special this car is in the rare green colour, having a Webasto Sun Roof, Subaru Cat 1 Alarm System W/Pin Pad, premium audio system, uprated Head Lights, Splitter kit all round along with having a few extras he has added. But to be honest I was'nt too sure until I joined this forum and put up a welcome thread, instantly I got told from 1 front picture how the colour was rare and also the different headlights were not too common so it sort of sealed what had been told to me :D. Aswel as the dealer added extras the car has a full turbo back 2.5' Prodrive exhaust system, the 3rd cat has been de-catted, Sytec Motorsport Fuel Filter & the car has been remapped but the boost pressure has not been altered one bit to keep the engine safe as houses! its estimated to be running around 240-250 BHP but I will get this verified by a dyno soon. I think I will stop jabbering on now and post some pictures of the car after a detail session...... Even still has tire shine on the spare!! So thats all up to yet I think.....I think engine wise I will not be pushing for much more power at all maybe to 300 BHP and leave it there. This project will be more about getting it to look as agressive as it moves ;). More to follow. Thanks
  20. Hi has anyone got a nice gf8 for sale? Looking at buying one cheers
  21. I've got a fob that doesn't work with this car. It's a 2006 GG wagon that I imported from Japan and it only has one key. The key that works has a 2 button handle. The fob that doesn't is a 2 button fog with a key dangling from it. I've scoured the net and still can't find anything. Does anyone on here know how to fix this? How do I get the second fob working. Thanks all David
  22. Hi Gang I've just imported an Impreza wagon. And I want to convert the speedo from KMH to MPH. Does anyone know how it's done? All the other forums talk about delimiting the engine, the ecu, the final drive on the gearbox and the clusters but noone really knows how. Any clues? Thanks DIH
