We have a subaru imprezza and we need to undo the pulley in front of the water pump.   Its an automatic.   The trouble we are having is the pulley keeps spinning.   how can we lock the gearbox or pulley,  apparantly we don't need any special tools !

talks about a rubber cap you remove and line up the crank with a gap and use that to lock it.
