I have a wrx prodrive which recommends 99 octane superunleaded but I'm from northern Ireland and the super unleaded is scarce and 97 being the best. Would it still be safe for me to add a bit of methanol to our 97 petrol without mapping? Its cheaper than octane boosters which sum of them don't work

i have dual maps, one for 20% meth one for normal pump. as matt says you need it mapped in by a mapper and it is advisable to run dual maps for it as you can just run aroun on a meth map with no meth in as it will damage your engine. Mine makes over 30bhp more on the meth map and makes 300bhp at 4k revs, its brutal :)
