Swayed towards the Impreza Wagon WRX

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Been drawn to the WRX Wagon 2nd gen Hawkeye/Square after a few other forums about a new car ideas. I have £6000 to spend.

Just looking to get some advice from first hand experience from guys who own the cars! Got a few questions!

- What things to look for when buying? Knocking seems a big issue?

- with 6k i seem to be able to get a quite good example, what spec should i be looking for?

- What modifications should i be looking at / already be on the car with the extra money i would have.

- Any other things i have missed??

Let me know

Should get a good one for that money maybe a gb270

Knocking is common , on unloved engines anyway

Mods which arent mapped in too are a big issue !

Head gaskets usual stuff really

allways go for a car with a great service history, lots of bills for work done and stuff usually shows its been loved and look't after.check the rear end isnt on the floor,i had a look at a few when i got my bug wagon that had tow bars and was really low at the back like the rear suspension had gone on them, could show its had a hard life pulling some weight about.have a look at rear dif as well for oil leaks, look't at 3 hawks,2 saloons n a wagon and all had leaky rear difs.
