isu555
Hi new to the forum, hopefully posted in the right section. I have a subaru forester 2001, just noticed a burning oil smell, i opened the bonnet and seems to be a very light oil leak dripping on a heat shield at the front end drivers side. further investigation seems to be coming from a black plastic cover at the front end of the engine which is held on by 3 bolts. Anyone shed any light on this to what it could be. Thank you. :(
martyc
Typically, on the boxer engine the rocker cover gaskets can weep with age as they get brittle. Due to the configuration this causes it to drip directly on the manifolds, which sounds like your problem Sent from my iphone using Tapatalk
