Power Steering Whine

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Lately i've noticed my power steering is whining quite a lot and when performing so speed manoeuvre's the steering feels quite juddery. I have replaced the alternator/PAS belt and it still remains, from looking online it appears that the issue could lie with the o-ring for the top hose connector, however i've found 3 different part numbers is anyone able to offer any advice?

The 3 part numbers i've found are
34439FE000
34439FG000
34439FE010

Thanks in advance
Dan

Hey! I would just replace the pump to be honest! It might be the steering rack issue though. Also some people say that it might be related to the gearbox (only AUTO gearboxes affected as far as I know).

I currently have the same issue.

I just replaced the o ring and replaced the fluid and it's been fine ever since 😊

Oh right. So which part number did you use? Do you have a manual of how to replace that O-ring?

I had the same problem, changed the pump, belt, front and rear diff oil and power steering hoses. Judders gone and steering feels great

I tried the o ring change, it just made things worse

It's the steering rack then.... if the rack goes bad it ruins the pump if the pump goes bad, it ruins the rack -)))

I'm hoping I've got away with it, the car feels great
