Hi guys I'm new to the site need some advice on my turbo I'm pretty sure its knackard I have a 98 turbo wag on the previous owner had done several mods such as walbro fuel pump yellow injectors vf28 turbocharger full decay and sti ECU

The other day after giving it some welly the turbo started making a horrible whining and lost boost now its always noisy there's a rattle and sometimes boosts sometimes not there's a little smoke

I'm struggling to find a reasonable priced replacement vf28 does anyone have one or can anyone advise me on which other turbos would be a suitable replacement with similar performance and straight swapover

I've gone thro 2 vf28 tho s very good turbo a decent one is about 200-250 

 

if if he just swapped turbo and Ecu that might be your issue
