aucky Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 hi guys, so I was just wondering if you had a Scooby hawk 2.5 or after and engine went and you put a 2.L engine in it and told dvla, would the tax go down or would it still be the high tax band, just wondering

HoodedLime Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 I think it is possible. Even on your registration certificate you have a spot to change that details and apply for a different tax bracket. I'm sure the car would have to be tested somehow or maybe it would be enough to provide paperwork supporting all the details but it is worth doing some research on that subject 1
Daz-RSK Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Yes, it can be done but it costs a lot of time and money. You effectively have to recreate the motor through a new homologation process. Not worth doing because, as said, it costs a packet to do and you need to be prepared to demonstrate why it would fit into a lower bracket through tests, some of the equipment you would not have access to. But the simple answer is yes it can be done. 1
