Hazel Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Evening all, my sat nav has given up on my 8 yrs old Subaru Outback. The screen reads "NOT MAP DVD" & is black other than that. The rear reversing camera works & radio works, although cant access stations. Can anyone recommend a fix? TIA Thanks Hazel
Greenmamba Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Confirm you have a disc in the drive for the satnav? You could try a reset, there should be a small hole on the face near the disc loading slot - push a paper clip or pin there to reset the drive. The drive ought to be in the glove box/cubby.
Hazel Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 @Greenmamba thanks. There is no disc in the drive, there never has been.I will try reset as suggested.I have the oriniganl disc somewhere, i will dig it out & try to reload. Thanks
Hazel Posted June 7, 2017 Author Posted June 7, 2017 @Greenmamba i tried loading the old discs that i received when i purchased the car & neither will work. I also had a look for rest button & there doesnt appear to be on anything else i can try or do i need to buy a new disc? Thanks
Greenmamba Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 @Hazel How many discs do you have and are you trying them in the dvd drive in the cubbyhole, or in the cd player slot?
Hazel Posted June 8, 2017 Author Posted June 8, 2017 @Greenmamba i have 2 discs, & i did put them into cd player slot! I shall look for drive, cant say i have ever seen one though. Thanks
Hazel Posted June 9, 2017 Author Posted June 9, 2017 @Greenmamba . Ok, so i found the drive, it was behind what looked like part of the radio fashia.I inserted another disc, there was one in there already, & now it works ok. Thanks for your help Hazel
