Hi lads

i know these Diesel engines can be a bit noisey but my engine has bit of a rattle at around 1200-1400k revs other than that it seems ok

Only when cold? we have two and both do it when they're cold while the oil warms up. Shouldn't do it when warm though and it shouldn't sound like a knock

I don't think it has a timing chain? I thought it was a belt

All good lads after a visit to my local Subaru dealer, one of the noisey ticking sounds is the injectors and the other noise is the chain but only toutching the guides.....Remember these noises are only intermittent and not constant & the mechanic told me they are noisey engines but good engines!!! Happy with that😃

Well mine is also a bit rattly lately so I might speak to the dealer as the ticking noise you refer to sounds familiar
