overheating issue

Featured Replies

hi any help appreciated...

i have a 04 wrx,

this afternoon i noticed the heaters in the car started blowing cold and the temp gauges went up high, turned round to come back home and after a min or so the heaters went warm again and the temp gauge went back to the middle.

so i drove for another 5-10 mins, the temp stayed normal and the heaters were working,so decided to pull over and turn the heaters off and let it idle for a 5 mins and watched the temp gauge ,temp stayed normal so i turned the heaters back on and they were hot,and set off back home.

the temp stayed fine for about 2-3 mins then the heaters went cold again and the temp went up again.

when i got home and pulled into the drive i let the car idle for a couple of mins, the temp stayed high but did not rise , i also heard the engine fan on.

not sure whats going on so any help would be appreciated

thanks.
