Hi 

I am due to be collecting a 2008 Impreza STI hatch next week. I am very new to Subaru and don't know much about them? Is there anything I should be aware of in terms of common faults? The car has covered 53k miles and am told the service history is full (subject to seeing this!) also cam belt intervals although I have asked that this is done before collecting. What's the life span of the 2.5 engine in these as I've heard a couple of times about engine rebuilds being done quite early on?

Engine lifespan varies greatly with the 2.5. Some seem to last over 100k without issues, others have failed after 30k. No way to predict it unfortunately...
