scoobypmp
I'm on the lookout for a nice, tidy and rust free facelift classic. As close as possible to Essex, but don't mind travelling for the right car.
Mattb
Hi. Have you got a budget your working too, and are you looking for a standard car or a modified version?
scoobypmp
I've got about £5,500 but could stretch a bit more for the right car. Mods aren't essencial, but being rust free is.
Mattb
I’ve had a search on a few sites and found 3 that I’d consider going to see. The others I saw have rust patches on the wheel arches, and generally look abused. The silver one at the bottom is in Northern Ireland... you did say you’d travel for the right car!! Haha. Good luck mate.
Mattb
I’d have a look at this one too.
scoobypmp
Thanks bud. I've seen the RB5 already, at least one of the arches has gone. The others are all good, but they're so far away from me. I'm having some real trouble finding a decent one down here, the good ones are about an 8 hour round trip!
Mattb
Decent clean examples are getting hard to find. There was a stunning catalunya on autotrader a few weeks back but the wife is full of arms and legs so priorities come first! Have a think about the blue one though, that’s been on sale for a while so he might be battered down on price.
scoobypmp
Thanks a lot mate, you've been very helpful. I've started looking at Bugeye's as well now! I'm just not sure if I want to move away from a classic?!
Mattb
It’s each to their own mate. I prefer the classics to the bugeyes but not everyone’s the same. I’d say clean examples of both will be hard to find without paying top dollar for them.
scoobypmp
I'm looking at Blobs as well now! Tidy ones seem a lot easier to find than the classics, but I'm not sure if I prefer a classic or not?! I'm gonna look at a bug and blob and see what I think. Mattb
I’d hold out for a classic. 😆👍
scoobypmp
I've seen a nice Bugeye that's won me over! If it all checks out when I go see it later I'll be buying it I think!
Mattb
Traitor. Lol. At least it’s still a Scooby!
