RobD42 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Hi All I have a 2014 Forester 2.0d XC diesel manual UK right hand drive. Only had it 2 months with 34,000 miles on the clock. It jerks a lot when feathering the accelerator, e.g. when cornering slowly in built up areas, or approaching a speed hump. It is most noticeable when in second gear, but has happened in first and third. It seems to be at 0% to 2% accelerator position (set up on the multi what ever it's called.) It doesn't matter whether the engine is hot or cold. If I increase the revs or when accelerating normally it doesn't happen. I have trouble replicating the problem. It just usually takes me by surprise. I suspect a dirty diesel filter possibly. Can't find a how to guide or video for cleaning or changing the under-bonnet fuel filter. Apart from DRIVE FASTER. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
RobD42 Posted May 23, 2018 Author Posted May 23, 2018 Update. Just realised that the jerking / chugging only happens when the Air conditioning is on. Hope this helps with a solution.
