Blazingblacksmith Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 Hi all. After recently getting my 2010 outback diesel back from the garage having had a new clutch fitted my wife returned home tonight and once parked tried to lock the car. Nothing happened and no lights or anything. Turns out that the negative terminal on the Battery had not been tightened and the terminal had jumped off as she was driving home. I tightened it back up and now the abs light is on, the electronic parking brake warning light is on and the vehicle dynamics warning light is on. All staying on when the car is running. Could this be due to the terminal coming off? Could it have done any other damage? Thanks for any advice.
shms Posted September 19, 2018 Posted September 19, 2018 not sure tbh but often a cure is to disconnect the Battery again for at least 30 mins. then reconnect and try again. it might have caused a code to get logged which may need clearing.
Blazingblacksmith Posted September 20, 2018 Author Posted September 20, 2018 Went over to the garage today and the codes say that there is no power to the systems. Tried wiping the codes but still the lights are on. Going back tomorrow to see if we can get it on the ramp and have a good look to see if there are any loose wires or connections. So bored of car issues. Its the nicest car I have ever owned but its costing plenty sadly.
shms Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 hope you got it resolved and if so what was the result ?...🙂
Blazingblacksmith Posted October 15, 2018 Author Posted October 15, 2018 Had it checked out properly and the abs unit has a fault so will either need to replace or have it reconditioned.
