RALLY CARS ON ICE - Lapland, Finland - February 2019

Here's your opportunity to participate in a unique experience where you get to drive Rally Cars on ice in Lapland, with Finnish National level racing drivers teaching you the basics of driving fast on ice using rally driving techniques.

This is an experience for any Subaru enthusiast to enjoy and the Subaru Owners Club is looking into arranging this for a group of 10 people in total to participate in the February 2019 event.

Event itinerary:

Day 1 

• arrival to Lapland, Kemi airport
• welcome dinner at a Reindeer farm Lappish TeePee
• short Reindeer ride

Day 2

• ice driving track day, full day from 09:00-16:00 / 9am to 4pm
• lunch and refreshments at circuits
• dinner in the Kemi Snowcastle

Day 3

• Snowmobile safari 09:00-11:00 / 9am to 11am
• departure from Kemi airport

Track day itinerary on day 2: 

08:45 - 09:00     Arrival time to ice circuits
09:00 - 09:30     Driver briefing and fitting of Helmet
09:30 - 12:00     Driver training starts / Ice driving
12:00 - 13:00     Lunch 
13:00 - 14:30     Training continues / Ice driving
14:30 - 15:00     Snacks & coffee 
15:00 - 15:45     Skills test
15:45 - 16:00     Diploma and event ends

Ice Driving full package includes:

• 1 x full track day on ice circuits from 9:00-16:00 (9am-4pm)
• 1 to 1 driver training
• 2 persons sharing 1 car with 1 instructor
• Cars used: Subaru WRX STI rally training car (studded tyres)
• Snowmobile safari / single driver booking
• 2 nights hotel accommodation in single room bookings
• Helmet hire for driving (your personal helmet is recommended for a perfect fit)
• Finnish National level rally driver as Instructor

• Coffee at circuits

• Group transportation services in Kemi (airport and hotel)

Ice Driving ONLY package includes:

Price for ice driving only: 
980€ per person, when 2 persons sharing 1 car (vat tax 24% included)

Price for ice driving only: 
1480€ per person, when 1 person per 1 car (vat tax 24% included)

Price for full package: 
2280€ per person, when 2 persons sharing 1 car (vat tax 24% included)

Accommodation:
We have many options available starting from 100€ per night.
We can arrange4-star hotel accommodation with our partnership prices as single or double room bookings.
The top end seaside villas go for 650€ per night.

Flights:
Flights from London to Kemi with Norwegian, Finnair, BA or KLM normally between £150-£200 return. The earlier you book the cheaper it will be.

The events are based in a small town in Lapland, Finland called Kemi, situated on the shores of the Bothnian Bay. Kemi is known for the world´s largest Snowcastle that is now starting it´s 23rd season. Kemi is the world´s only location with ice driving circuits built on the frozen sea ice.

The Seaside Glass Villa accommodation that are next to the ice driving circuits was nominated the winner of the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2018 so a night under the starts and the Northern lights will well impress your partner.

There are many other winter activities to book if you do travel to Lapland Finland. Snowmobile safari on the wast open sea ice, the icebreaker experience, try the traditional Finnish Sauna or drive a Tesla Model S and Model 3 on ice. 

The maximum booking amount of 10 drivers per event day can be extended to 20 drivers per day. This would mean a cheaper discounted rate for a group of 20 drivers per group. 

 

The price is 490€ per person, when 4 persons are sharing 1 car. This discounted option of 20 drivers per group is available only for the Subaru owners club.
