Catalytic Converters?

Featured Replies

Hiya,

First post! I have very little experience with catalytic converters but our Legacy 3.0 needs hers either cleaned or replaced before next year, does anyone know where I can find some that aren't like, £800 each? 😢
If there's an alternative or anything either you can let me know about that'd be great. I apologise my knowledge is very basic, but I'm eager to learn :)

Hi....welcome to the club

With Cats (Catalytic Converters) they do just the one job, clean the exhaust fumes by changing the gases into something less harmful (e.g. Carbon Monoxide into Carbon Dioxide, Hydrocarbons into Hydrogen, etc) so unless there is something wrong with the exhaust emissions which is measured at an MOT test or if there is a rattling noise because the ceramic monolith (otherwise known as a brick) has broken up inside then you shouldn't need to maintain a Cat or do anything else with it.

So, what is the issue you have with your Cats ?
