Have recently bought a 2022 Outback Field and delighted with the car. Looking at the US forums their seems to be a distrust almost amounting to a paranoia of the CVT system.Have many of the UK owners had problems with their CVT and are they repairable or does it require a new unit. At what mileage do you change the fluid. Thanks.

I can understand the fear of CVT failure but each car is different as to how they have been driven or maintained.
Personally I would change the fluid regardless and as long as you use a garage that is 'au fait' with CVT transmissions and knows how to interpret the fluid that has been drained (e.g. colour, smell, residue, metal filings, etc) then you shouldn't have an issue with it
