Graham11 Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 Hi all. My 2010 diesel Outback has a fuel leak and I cant see anywhere what the part is called that its leaking from. It is leaking behind the tank , above the rear near side wishbone. There is a metal bulb with a pipe in at the top and out at the bottom. It looks like that has corroded but what is it called? Any help would be much appreciated. Also has anyone replaced one before and is it a nightmare to get at it? Looks very tight up in there Copied and pasted from a previous post by another member as its exactly the same issue I have. Many thanks Graham
TonyC Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Hi, I had this on my 2010 MY Outback. Local garage found a fuel pipe had corroded and was leaking near the tank. They cut the section off and extended the rubber connection hose. problem sorted. They also greased the other pipes. Apparently they tell me, it is a known fault. Should any of the other pipes go, they will have to drop out the tank, luckily they could sort out this time without tank removal. Pipes do not appear to be protected. Hope this helps.
Izardx Posted November 29, 2023 Posted November 29, 2023 Hi, did the garage mention where they found the split pipe? As that’s my current issue, leaking diesel from that location, struggling to find someone who will work on a diesel outback
