Belt or Chain

Hello

im looking at buying a 2010 diesel Forester and I see that the timing belts need to be changed at 105k miles

i see that in 2011 Subaru introduced timing chains

the seller says it has chains not belts but that sounds a bit off

can anyone tell me if all the Diesel engines have chains and or how can I check if I’m not in front of the car myself?
