I am going to replace my 10 year old bulbs as they are getting a bit dull. Does anyone know the OEM supplier for a 2010 outback??

Hi,

I have a couple of spare HID bulbs I had bought in 2014 for my Outback. They are not OEM bulbs but some other aftermarket version. I don't need them and happy to give them to you if you want. Bulbs are D2S. I might be able to find the original online order if you want more info.

Hi, sorry for the slight thread hijack, I've also got a 2010 Diesel Outback and the dipped beam is getting pretty dull, do they all have HID bulbs on the dipped beam or is it an option and if so how can I check what I've got?

Thanks

Sorry, Crankslave. I got rid of my Outback only 5 months after buying it after two breakdowns in two weeks on a European trip back in 2014 so I don't know if all of them had HID. I can only suggest you take one bulb out and take a look, but from my (hazy) recollection both low beam and high beam were HID. Sorry cannot help more.

If it has HIDs you will notice that after switching on they take a couple of seconds to reach full brightness.

(FWIW, our 2017 XV has HID low beam but just a standard halogen high beam. The difference in colour is very noticeable, with the HIDs being white to the halogen's yellow.)

Hi All, thanks for the help, I think my dipped beams are HID with the way they come on and the being whiter. Thought it would be easier to check before I start taking the car to bits and find I've got the wrong bulbs 😄
