We all know the early legacy / outback diesels were prone to terminal engine issues eBay is littered with dead outbacks but that doesn't seem to be the case for foresters? Why? I know the Forester motor produces a few less HP but I'd always assumed they were the same base engine so should share the same problems.

Why isn't eBay full of dead foresters?
