New 2021 Outback mysterious devices on A Pillar interior-Touring trim

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I've finally got a New 2021 Outback Touring (mk6), it is a great car and I really enjoy it, but there are two little devices on the A pillar which does not seem to have any function, these are not on any limited/field trim neither. I tried to search youtube, there isn't any Australia or US model with these little mysterious devices. Are these part of the car? If anyone could shed some lights that would be greatly appreciated, please see attached photo, it is the white device in the middle of the picture. There is also another one on the left side A pillar.

Part of alarm system.  Ultrasound sensors.

Hi Dr. Acula,

Thank you very much for the prompt reply and explaination, is this device part of the vehicle, or could it be fitted by finance company?

Part of the vehicle in this instance.

Can also be retrofitted but I highly doubted.

Yes mine has them so I guess they are part of the car.

Glad to hear that!

My 2017 outback has these, part of the factory alarm system installed at build I assume.
