New purchase / cambelt change??

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I'm about to buy my first subaru impreza and looking for some advice before I buy.

It's a 2006 JDM bugeye Impreza STI 2.0.

The car had a fully refurbished low mileage 2015 JDM EJ207 engine fitted with all the correct OEM parts and upgrades in 2017 with Triton motor services & Motorsport @ 71500 miles.

The car has now done circa 83000 miles and it's been nearly 7 years since it was done. I can see the car has been stored off the road for the past year.

I wanted to know if I should get the cambelt and waterpump changed immediately or if would be OK to run for a while.

The seller is asking good money for the car and I wanted to find this out to negotiate if it will need doing.

Here is the link to the advert :

Any advice and help with this would be greatly appricared.

Thanks in advance,

Scott
