Mickthecat Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I have a 2014 Forester Diesel. It had an old fella owning it before me and had full dealer service. Ive done a good few miles in it and its now at 60,000 miles. Its been a great car and other than one wheel bearing has been %100 reliable especially in bad weather. But recently it appears the clutch is giving up. Drive as I do at slow speeds and its ok. But if you boot the throttle especially at higher gears the revs rise and it doesnt accelerate. I know its the clutch even though the peddle action seems ok (unless I've just got used to it) no burning smell and its much better in lower gears. Gear changes have always been "agricultural", its not a silky smooth gearbox like my last car but ok. Im wondering how much a clutch change is? I wonder if it willl need a dual mass flywheel? My last car needed one and it was £££££.
