I'm considering buying an 07 3L Legacy from a friend, with MOT for the grand sum of £500

It has nearly a years MOT but by the skin of its teeth, mainly because of the dreaded rear subframe issue.

I've had a quick look around for a replacement, but I'm not sure where's best to get a replacement, or what it would cost me.

I'm fairly confident with a wrench, but may outsource the job to someone with a lift.

Happy to receive input on any common issues I/he maybe hasn't noticed yet.

Side question, if I was to get one from a breakers and send it for powdercoating, is any 03-08 estate subframe usable? or does it have to be a 3L
