September 21, 2025Sep 21 Old thread but can answer Im very close on a new Subaru , out of the forester and outback(dare i say x trail too). So i booked an appointment for 2 test drives. I was at subaru just the other day, the forester with the 2.0 e boxer obv isnt fast! The 2025 cabin is a nice place to be. 11” centre (same as outback) , analog dials. I was only out in it for about 15 mins so difficult to get a decent idea. General driving on normal roads, nothing negative other than power. Smooth, fairly quiet a very good visibility with the large windows. I also drove the outback with the 2.5. This also isnt going to impress performance wise . The added kick down (like a split second pause to mimic a gear box) im not a fan of. Makes it just feel more unresponsive. Outback does feel(is too) larger , longer, tad wider. More like sitting in an arm chair, again very close to the forester in specs . Just a few additional bits like heated rear seats as standard, decent roof rails. Both have same clearance. Boot is notably deeper .
